Adam has been a student of quantitative and fundamental security selection strategies for more than 30 years, and has published over 200 articles on investments and the markets. In addition to his degrees in Science and Finance, Adam is a Certified Investment Manager and a designated Discretionary Portfolio Manager. Adam is also a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.
Adam's studies and practice in the area of quantitative investment strategies gained academic exposure through a case written by UWO Ivey School of Business Professor Stephen Foerster called "Adam Bain and the Price Momentum Theory". The case became a regular part of the Ivey School finance curriculum at both of the Ivey Business School's in London, Ontario and Hong Kong.
Active in the community, Adam has served on the Boards of The London Community Foundation, Wellspring London and Region and the Canadian Mental Health Association and is the past Chair of the board of the London Boys and Girls Club Foundation, where he also served as Chair of the Investment Committee. Adam also served on the the Lawson Foundation Investment Committee. Adam is an avid guitar player and is the founder and organizer of The Wellspring Battle of the Bay Street Bands, an event that has raised over $1,200,000 for Wellspring London.
Adam is married to Michelle and they have three girls, Taylor, Johanna & Kennedy.
